Beerfest: Kyoto Grand Hotel and Garden Los Angeles
September 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments

This must be a huge mistake. “Beerfest” at the Kyoto Hotel Garden is
nothing like “Beerfest” the movie or Oktoberfest. There is no polka music,
or beer steins…actually they have only 6 types of beer and the scene wasn’t
very festive.

Despite being bamboozled into attending Beerfest, it was still a pretty good
time. The Japanese Garden is on the […]

Visions of the Bay - San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley
August 21st, 2008 · No Comments

The Bay Area is pretty damn cool and it’s no wonder why it has such a loyal following. It is refreshing to go up there and know that such a contrast can exist within a single state. Here are some pics from San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland which were taken during a recent trip. All […]

Life is Beautiful Exhibit in Los Angeles - Mr. Brainwash
July 12th, 2008 · No Comments

On June 17th there was an indoor/outdoor solo Art Exhibit called Life is Beautiful. It was put on by Mr. Brainwash or Thierry Guetta. His work riffs a lot on pop art. It is playful and creative, but is still approachable for those who may not know much about art. Here are some of the pieces that caught […]

Music and Movies on Demand with SeeqPod
June 24th, 2008 · No Comments

SeeqPod claims to be “playable search” which isn’t a very clear concept. What that means is that it searches the web for audio, video, slideshows, finance, wikipedia and other rich multimedia content and plays/loads it conveniently within the search results page.
While that doesn’t seem too useful at first, it is a great way for playing music and movies on demand. It is crucial when […]

On a Thursday night a few weeks ago, in excited anticipation of the coming weekend a friend and I decided to go to a local bar. Having tried out almost all of the available and interesting bars in the Palms/Culver City […]

Wutang Chess ain’t Nothin to f*** with
June 10th, 2008 · No Comments

The Rza from the Wu-Tang is constantly evolving his career. He started as the producing MC for a grimy New York crew and after establishing the Wu-Tang Clan as one of the most powerful groups in hip hop, he went on to creating aliases like Bobby Digital and masterminding the score for hit movies like Kill Bill. The latest […]

Good

Food
Choose two of the three, the old saying goes. Good food, yes. British food, it exists. Good British, sure. But never, ever, ever may one employ all three at the same time. There can be no “good […]

Restaurant Review of Father’s Office Santa Monica
March 11th, 2008 · No Comments

1018 Montana AveSanta Monica, CA 90403(310) 393-BEER or (310) 393-2337
It’s tough to be touted as the Best. It’s a claim that’s overused and always challenged. When someone first said that Father’s Office made the Best Burger in Los Angeles, I yawned. After hearing it for the 100th time, I finally decided to try it.

The […]
