This review is part of the 10 Days of Carne Asada Article.
Mrs. Garcia’s is a great little spot in Downtown Culver City. They serve large portions and their salsa bar can be a meal on its own. I usually get their al pastor, but today was all about the carne asada burrito.
They served the burrito with a large scoop of guacamole inside. They give the option of having spicy or mild sauce in the burrito. It should be no surprise that I went with spicy. The meat in the carne asada was really mildly spiced, but it really let the flavor of the steak shine through. It was tough to assess the texture of the meat because of the cheese, guac, and salsa which made up a lot of the burrito filling. The sauce inside was tasty and spicy. The salsas from the bar were all good, but there were no standouts. All together the burrito was delicious, but I wish the carne asada was given center stage.
