The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that there was no meat on the grill. Then 10 seconds later…WHAP! A guy slams a marinated slab of meat the size of Shaq’s Jersey on the fire. It was time to eat. The “all meat” carne asada burrito that I ordered came out unwrapped truly showcasing the meat. I have never received an open faced burrito, but I soon realized that I was supposed to top the burro with my choices from the salsa bar before wrapping. I put some onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, and spicy salsa before wrapping. I later found out that customers can let the pros behind the counter wrap their topped burrito too.

At first, the burrito seemed like it was going to be on the dry side, but I quickly realized that the meat was perfectly moist. It was cut into perfect sized pieces and there was never a chunk which was too tough. The spices on the meat were near perfection and it had a great char.  The salsa they offered was pretty good, but the burrito didn’t need it anyway. Taco Village knew their carne asada was bomb and they weren’t about to overshadow it with salsa.
