Busy Bee’s Sandwiches
2413 S Walker Ave
San Pedro, CA 90731

This hidden Sandwich Shop has a lot going for it. It’s a local gem of San Pedro that not many people know about. They serve HUGE sandwiches. The first time I went there, I ate half a sausage sandwich and I felt like my stomach was filled with lead. I really didn’t want to move for 2 solid hours after eating only half of that thing.
It’s not just quantity. The quality and selection of sandwiches are good too. They have the full assortment of Cold Deli Sandwiches and even better are the Hot Sandwiches. Roast Beef, Roast Pork, Chicken, Meatball, Pastrami, and Sausage. All of these are good, but my favorites are the Roast Pork and the Sausage. For the manimal in you, there is a Belly Buster Sandwich which comes with a combination of 2 meats. I DO NOT recommend ordering it, unless you have a comfortable spot nearby where your belly can bust.
The Sandwich Shop actually sits in the back of a market. After going back to Busy Bee’s a couple of times, I realized that all of the products sold in the market are the actual sandwich ingredients or they are snacks meant to be eaten with the sandwiches. So they only sell chips, beer, soda, cans of tomatoes, jars of pepperoncinis, tubs of mayo and mustard.
This place has a “Locals Only” feel through and through. There are no tables at Busy Bee’s so prepare to park yourself on the curb outside or take the sandwich somewhere nearby before it gets too soggy.
The only drawback to Busy Bee’s is their hours. They aren’t open at all on Sundays and holidays. They are only open until 6pm Monday-Saturday. Just put on some loose fitting pants, head there for lunch, and you won’t be disappointed.
