Visions of the Bay - San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley
August 21st, 2008 · No Comments
The Bay Area is pretty damn cool and it’s no wonder why it has such a loyal following. It is refreshing to go up there and know that such a contrast can exist within a single state. Here are some pics from San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland which were taken during a recent trip. All round an awesome trip, except for getting the car towed twice in 10 hours!
Battleground was a free show that combined Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Cars, and Mixed Martial Arts. It happened in what seemed like an abandoned warehouse in San Francisco’s Fort Mason. Talib Kweli showed up and played a few songs however the MMA Fight was cancelled. Still it was good times.
The view from the best seat in the house at Lefty O’douls. Also, for a cold night, here’s a hot bowl of chowder…did I pronounce that right?
Top Dog in Berkeley has a reputation as the best Hot Dog in the area. I wouldn’t disagree, but it was the only food I ate in the area. Still, it tasted great and the shop was unique.
So, maybe Oakland is losing its edge. When I visited for the first time, I saw a beautiful lake with ducks and went wine tasting. What happened to the raider nation?
